This will be my first official post for my blog. Been quite awhile since i blogged in. So, today's topic is related to human psychology - Jealousy. What is jealousy? It's simple; it's an uncomfortable feeling that bugs one over someone's achievements which, he/she is unable to achieve. The cause of such feelings is still unknown till now. But to really portray a clear picture of jealousy, just ask ourselves, recall the times where we feel dejected and cast aside or intimidated due to other people's achievements. Be it in career or love life, jealousy implies.
For example, a workaholic who works 24 hours a day round the clock only receive a mere recognition from his or her boss whilst another person who does less job and enjoy all day long got all the credits despite his or her hard work. Of course, the feeling of envy and jealous will surely be in the mind of the workaholic. It's funny how human develops and cultivates such feeling even that is still unknown to us. Let's head back to the old 1980s where life weren't that complicated and tormenting. People at that time lived and led a happy life, stress-free and jealousy never comes across their minds at all. They built up strong rapport among the communities and help out one another where there is in need of man power. As compared to now, life is like a cat and mouse race, where career and glory seems to be the jiest of life in every eye of mankind. Just imagine, just cause of career, people tend to fight for their lives for it, often leads to friendship breakdown and of course, cold war among colleagues. In turn, people despise one another, thinking that whatever their friends do comes with a motive to turn them down from their work. Maybe it's due to the burden that the labor have to carry, the necessity to earn money to cover up for their daily expenses, feeding those hungry mouths at home and etc. SO i could say that jealousy is normal.
Let's think rasionally, does being in a jealousy solve anything? It only leads to more hatred and if this persists, well, carnage? Maybe what I’m saying now contradicts what i have mentioned just now, but if you put your mind and ponder in another angle, jealousy too has a good side of it. Some people treats jealousy as though a challenge to change for the better, cravin’ to be the best, one tend to fight and venture even more deeper, grabbing every single details and information they could acquire to be the best, gain recognition and respect among others. In their point of view, jealousy is like a force boon for them to persevere, and to win. Their failure will be their first and the last, and this makes them strive to the end, to emerge victorious in a race. Come to think of it, it's funny that human is able to nurture this kind of thoughts and feelings into their system. Is it because people in the olden days often vie against one another? What i know that competition during the old times is mainly about proving that one is able to be the chief of a tribe. Even this 'sick' tradition applies to animals. So does that mean that we are more or less like animals too? And of course, jealousy is followed by killing. Some people who could not accept the fact they lost will be driven to murder. People often think that murder is due to hatred, but from my perception, jealousy is the cause of all those brutal killings. But the fact is still the fact; jealousy is part and parcel of our life. Don't tell me that there is no one who do not feel jealous, not even the slightest matter in life, that is a squabble among siblings, which the other sibling got something new and he/she doesn't have it? If that person does not get jealous, then Icould say that he/she is one in a million, or in short, they're non-homosapiens XD
It's more like a chain reaction in life, jealous -> hatred -> malice -> killing spree. Until now, there is no remedy for jealousy. What people always do to distract that feeling is by singing, watching TV, eating, praying and gulping alcohols. If you say that it's the only cure for jealousy, then I would fully advocate to that statement. Jealousy is just a feeling, a phenomenon which we could never eradicate, like a parasite living in us. We cannot do anything to cure it, but just to abide to its will. The only thing we can do is to control those feelings, so that it will not evolve into hatred, thus life won't be that chaotic~
That's all for today's topic~ Stay tuned for more XD
